For the first time since August 21, 2017, the United States is slated for a total solar eclipse spanning from Texas through Maine for several hours.

Along the path, Poteau will experience partial to total solar eclipse periods for roughly 2.5 hours.

According to the website Time and Date, the Poteau area is expected to see partial to total eclipse periods over the following time spans:

• Partial begins: 12:30:36 pm
• Full begins: 1:48:48 pm
• Maximum: 1:49:32 pm
• Full ends: 1:50:16 pm
• Partial ends: 3:08:24 pm
